Our Original Antique Bowls are cleaned, sanitized, water tested, and inspected for the tiniest flaws. Please keep in mind that bowls will show normal signs of use and wear. All Bowls include spud and installation hardware.
Bowls are graded for condition using the following guidlines:
Bowls described as “Excellent” are as nearly new as possible with no visible damage and at least 90% of their original surface luster.. Keep in mind that a bowl from 1910 rated as “excellent” might have more signs of wear than a bowl from 1950 with the same rating.
Bowls described as “Very Good” have at least 80% of the original luster but might have small chips, crazing, or discolorations in places where most people wouldn’t notice them.
Bowls described as “Good” are perfectly useable but have visible stains, cracks, chips, or other flaws.
We generally don’t handle anything rated “Poor” unless it is a particularly rare or unusual bowl. “Poor” would indicate a structurally sound bowl with with very noticable blemishes or chips.
Color: “AW” indicates “Antique White. “MW” indicates “Modern White” Toilet colors vary from brand to brand, so you should match a bowl to the same brand of tank. Bowls made after about 1954 and refinished bowls will be the brighter, modern white color. If you are going to have new or refinished fixtures in the bathroom, you should select Modern White fixtures to insure a color match.
Spud Size: Generally, bowls with a 2” spud may be used with either a high or low tank (exceptions will be specified.) Bowls with 1-1/2” or 1-1/4” spuds are for high tank installations only.
Pipe Size: Most of our old bowls must be installed on a 4” flange on a 4” pipe. They will NOT fit on a modern
4” x 3” closet flange unless specified otherwise. .
