Pedestal Sinks Sink materials: Pedestal sinks may be made of earthenware, china, or cast iron. All three are coated with a ceramic glaze that is fired to give a smooth hard finish. Earthenware develops a "crackle" finish over time. This was orginally considered a flaw in the material but is now a much sought-after look in period restorations. China and cast iron largely replaced earthenware by the turn of the century; neither is as prone to cracking as earthenware. Cast iron is more durable than china but may be prone to chipping and rust.

1951 “Standard” Peg leg Lavatory w/ Backsplash
Boy, when I first looked at this sink, I figured it was from the
“30’s. I was very suprised to see the date. This sink stands 31 3/4” tall, and is 19” by 20 1/2”. Overall, the sink is in
Very good condition, with some scuffing in the basin. There is one small chip on the top edge of the backsplash, it’ll be hidden when the sink is caulked
in. Sink will accept most modern widespread faucets, like our 55-series valves

1949 Case Peg Leg Pedestal Lavatory Large 24-1/2 x 20-1/2” slab stands 31”
tall. Large 17” x 12” bowl in very good condition includes interesting dual-function faucet that acts as a regular mixing faucet AND as a drinking
water dispenser when the push-button on the spout is depressed. (lettering on button reads “ice water”.) Faucets are rebuilt, plating is in decent shape
with some dings in the faucet handles. Faucet hook-up is conventional, ice water dispenser connects with 1/4” copper tubing. Most of us don’t
have a handy water chiller to connect to, but the 1/4” line will fit a standard refrigerator icemaker filter. (Imagine having filtered drinking and toothbrushing
water at the touch of a button in your bathroom!) PS0311 Case Peg Leg w/ Faucet SOLD

1930’s/1950 Standard China Sink Don’t you love it when a plan
comes together? A couple of years ago, we got a really cool, completely original “Standard” brand widespread valve in, with porcelain soap dish,
dating from the 1930’s. Unfortunately, it didn’t fit any sink we had. Rats! We kept our eyes open and when this Standard sink came in
minus it’s faucet, we started praying. Yes, it’s dated 1950, but darn it, the faucet fits! Put this in your 1930’s bath, and no-one will
ever know. The sink is in excellent condition, they do not come better. It stands 31” tall, and is 24 1/2” wide by 20” deep. The
faucet will be completely restored on your choice of Polished nickel or Chrome. PS08800 Standard sink SOLD
