Pedestal Sinks
Sink materials:
Pedestal sinks  may be made of earthenware, china, or cast iron. All three are coated with a ceramic glaze that is fired to give a smooth hard finish. Earthenware develops a "crackle" finish over time. This was orginally  considered a flaw in the material but is now a much sought-after look in period restorations. China and cast iron largely replaced earthenware by the turn of the century; neither is as prone to cracking  as earthenware. Cast iron is more durable than china but may be prone to chipping and rust.

1912 Maddox/Hajoca Serpentine Sink
It’s Back! This one was sold, but our client discovered that this sink was just too large for the space, so another sink had to be chosen. Everything is currently original with this sink, it was made in 1912 by Maddox and Sons for Haines, Jones and Cadbury. Hajoca, as they are now known, are still in business, but aren’t making anything like this anymore.
The sink does show slight wear (deglossing) especially around the spout, originally the faucet was Nickel, but an overzealous person somehow scrubbed off ALL the nickel and removed the gloss from the sink as well. It can be seen in the pic just to the left of the spout. Also, the base of

the pedestal has several chips on it’s edge. Otherwise, this sink is in wonderful shape considering it’s 95 years old. Sink is 29 3/4” wide, 23 1/2” deep, and stands 30 3/4” tall. Last time this one was on our site, it sold within a week. Grab it quick!

1938 ”Standard” China Lavatory w/ Backsplash
Hard to Find 24 x 20” pedestal sink with backsplash. Will accept widespread valve sets (sold separately). Height is 31 1/2”. Some minor scuffing in the glaze keeps it from being excellent, we’ll call it Very Good condition.

1934 ‘Standard’ China Pedestal Peg Leg Sink
Large 24” x 20 slab with single 1-1/4” faucet hole centered on a generous 15-1/2” x 11” bowl.
Very good original condition. Top of slab is excellent, bowl shows signs of use but still has good luster with no chips or badly worn spots.

1921 Monument Pottery Pegleg Lavy sink
This is one heck of a cool old sink! Made of vitreous china, and a cool combination of pegleg styling with the usefulness of a ledgeback. Original drain operator still in place. Sink stands 31” tall, and is 22” deep and 24” wide. The ledge/shelf stands 7” tall. The sink has one issue, it’s badly chipped along the top edge of the sink. We think it may have been tiled in at one point, and been damaged when removed. Chips can be repaired at an additional cost, or taken as-is. If not for the chips, it would be considered in excellent condition. Sink accepts single basin taps. (sold separately)

1953 Pedestal China Sink

Large 27”X21-1/2” Slab stands 21” Tall. 4” Faucet Centers, 1-1/4” Faucet Hole.  The deco-style rectangular base adds a touch of eye-catching class. A tight, non-structural crack on the side (click on photo for close-up) cut the cost in half! A well made sink in fair original condition
